James A. Odlum has been practicing law for more than 30 years, the last 25 of which have been with Mundell, Odlum & Haws, LLP in San Bernardino. Jim’s practice focuses on employment law and business litigation. Jim has successfully tried cases in both federal and state court as well as represented business and governmental agencies in arbitrations and administrative hearings. Jim also has worked extensively representing employers before the National Labor Relations Board. A significant part of Jim’s practice involves counseling clients on personnel matters with the intention of avoiding litigation.

Before entering private practice, Jim served as a law clerk for the Honorable John L. Coffey of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. He then worked for Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in Los Angeles as a member of that firm’s Labor Department. Since then, Jim has written and spoken frequently on subjects such as arbitration, wrongful termination and discrimination law.

Jim’s community activities include serving as President of the Arrowhead United Way, President of the Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House, as a member of the Redlands Community Hospital Foundation board, and serving on the boards of other non-profits. When he is not working, Jim is an avid ping-pong player with the Yucaipa Table Tennis Club.
